At first, this perfume felt similar to attar oils from other perfume houses labelled Gulf Blend, or Emirati Blend, etc… However, after applying to my skin and letting it settle is when it stood apart from the others.
I got the smell of Turkish/Taif Rose with some saffron and perhaps some Amber too. The initial projection is about an arm’s length, and the longevity is all day when applied to pulse points (wrist, neck, inside of elbow). Initially, this smells very sweet and over time it becomes smoother and I notice more of the warmer and slightly spicy notes. What won me over on this perfume was that it’s not an in-your-face smell but it’s there in the background following you around. Yet, it still has that oriental/arabic touch to add that bit of mystery and enchantment to you attracting compliments from those close enough to have their noses greeted with a cloud of soft rose and spice. This is one of my favourites of the “gulf style” blends out there because of the right proportion of each note.
I like the work by ScentSalim, I will be going back to sample more.

The rose and Oud really make it a summer scent for the heat but the amber creates the great warmth for the winter. This scent makes me lost for words it is that good, the oil is excellent and a little drop goes a long way! i have a great collection of attar oils but these are far away one the bests I’ve tried ! Dubai Oud is a majestic mukhallat (blend) it really fits very well to the personality of Dubai: intriguing and classy ! it starts with a beautiful powerful rosy scent then few minutes later once it’s well set on your skin, it appears a spicy rose scent (with a hint of saffron the mukhallat is so well constructed) many hours later we can smell the amber blend with frankincense (I can feel it ?) and the woody scent (oud)… I really love it it’s fresh and intriguing, the ingredients are well dosed ! Mr Salim is a remarquable attar master !

A rose/oud combo done to perfection! Excellent value for the price. This smells like Roja’s Amber Aoud, but for a fraction of the cost.
