(2 customer reviews)

Oud, Agar-wood, also known as Aoud, or Oudh, is the resinous heartwood of the Aquilaria and Crasna tree. The heartwood becomes diseased, leaving it a dark, oily and incredibly dense. The wood becomes so dense that it does not float. It was first introduced into Europe in the eighth and ninth centuries. It is still the scent of choice in the Middle East and is now firmly established in Western perfumery. The oil is distilled from the wood. The wood is also burnt in the traditional manner, known as Bakhoor, making it one of the oldest forms of incense in the world. This is a premium grade from Asaam in India. This is the A grade and is slightly lighter than the AA grade.
